Published Tue, 18 Feb 2025 21:49:25 GMT

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Mellie and it's about sleepovers. Here's her email. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. Here's a dilemma for you. My daughter is turning ten in two weeks and she wants to have a sleepover with five of her friends. One of her best friends is a boy who has been to sleepovers in the past, but my husband is saying that now she’s too old to have boys stay over. It’s not an unreasonable position for him to take, but our daughter is devastated. I’m conflicted on what the best thing to do here is. What’s the etiquette? What’s the age at which little girls can no longer have sleepovers with their friends who are boys? What would you do? Hope you can help. Thanks.MellieHmm, this is a tough one. But I do think since it's only one boy, and they've been best friends for a while, I would let him stay over. He would have his own sleeping bag or his own spot on the floor,...

Ask Amy: Wife gains a husband, husband gains weight

Published Tue, 18 Feb 2025 21:49:25 GMT

Dear Amy: My husband and I have been married for nine years. When we were newly married, we had the luxury of running after work and hiking on the weekends. We did not have a lot of stress.Fast-forward to two kids, a home, careers, and a life out of balance — and my husband has gained about 60 pounds.I am not judging him, as I completely understand the problem of stress eating, aging, and having too little time to work out.I’ll love him no matter what.My issue is his health. I’m terrified of him having a heart attack or a stroke. He is a smart guy and knows he needs to lose weight, but the problem is that he won’t try.He eats bags of cookies, brownies, and fast food. He refuses to go to the doctor because he says he “needs to lose weight first,” but he won’t make the effort to do so. He hasn’t had a physical in more than seven years.I cannot bring myself to tell him that he really needs to lose weight, as I don’t want to make him feel worse than I know he already does.I’m guessi...

Cy lost a finesse with dummy’s queen, and East’s club shift gave the defense three more tricks.“Your shrink watched one deal and diagnosed you?” I asked.“He told me I don’t have any complex,” the Cynic said in a tone of relief. “He said I really am inferior.”LAST DIAMONDCy’s play certainly was inferior. Cy must grab the ace of diamonds, take the A-K of spades, lead a trump to dummy and return the jack of spades, pitching his last diamond. If West wins and leads a fourth spade, East can ruff dummy’s ten, but Cy overruffs, leads a trump to dummy and returns the ...
