By Tierney Sneed and Marshall Cohen | CNNFar-right TV network One America News and one of its on-air personalities settled a defamation lawsuit brought by a former executive at Dominion Voting Systems, the election technology company that was falsely accused of rigging the 2020 election, according to new court filings.Dominion’s former top security official Eric Coomer sued OAN and its correspondent Chanel Rion in the wake of the 2020 election, when they repeatedly peddled unfounded claims that he and Dominion were involved in massive election fraud in 2020 by flipping millions of votes from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.Terms of the out-of-court settlement, which was made public in a court filing, weren’t immediately available. The filing said OAN and Rion “have fully and finally settled the disputes” with Coomer, but did not provide any other details. Court records indicate that the deal was brokered late last week.A spokesperson and attorney for OAN did not immediately respond to CNN...Review: With ‘Starfield,’ fans feel familiar pull into Bethesda’s orbit

Although “Starfield” is Bethesda Game Studios’ first wholly original game in 29 years, the project feels eerily familiar. The graphics may have received an overhaul with the Creation Engine 2, and the setting is different as players take on the role of an explorer in this sci-fi epic, but the core experience has a distinct signature.Like a fingerprint, there’s no mistaking the hallmarks of a Bethesda Game Studios release. It’s a quality that’s intrinsic to the studio, and it shows up in the new universe of “Starfield.” Players take on the role of a newbie miner on Vectera, a moon in the Narion system, who discovers a mysterious artifact.A TOUCH OF THE SPECTACULARUpon touching the piece of metal, the protagonist, which players customize in the beginning, hears music and sees lights before being knocked out. When Barrett, a member of Constellation, shows up to pick up the artifact, he invites the player to join a collective on Jemison in...49ers mailbag: Answering fan questions on Bosa’s holdout, front office decisions and injury updates

SANTA CLARA – The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year has yet to show up on the season’s doorstep, but 49ers fans sure have by submitting questions for this Week 1 mailbag via social media:What is really going on with Nick Bosa? This seems suspicious. (@_wrrongg)This contract impasse actually seems like it’s about to end, because the season is about to begin. No more training camp practices or preseason games to skip. No more time to squabble over guaranteed money or injury protection, etc. Both camps have been quiet, as promised, which should have told you they expected a prolonged negotiation that, in no small feat, resets the market.Has the 49ers’ front office progressively gotten worse over the last two years that a change is needed after this year regardless of win/loss ratio, citing the handling of Bosa, Lance and kickers as recent references? (@J_Propar)No. The front office is not to crucify for Trey Lance bombing in two injury-marred seasons, nor for the still-at-the-t...Ex-Proud Boy Tarrio faces sentencing in Jan. 6 attack

By Allison Morrow | CNNNew York ( — Burning Man, the desert confab that descended into chaos over the weekend, isn’t quite the scrappy, free-spirited revelry that it once was.For many watching the disarray of Burning Man from afar, the rain and mud that left 70,000 people stranded quickly became a symbol of the festival’s departure from its roots.Or, more simply: how the billionaires ruined Burning Man.The festival began as a small gathering in 1986 on a San Francisco beach, and eventually grew into a gritty countercultural community of “Burners” who eschew commercialism within their makeshift city, erected annually in a desiccated lake bed known as the playa. There’s no money trading hands on the playa — that’s core to to the community’s “decommodification” ethos. But there is, increasingly, a lot of money on the playa.Going to Burning Man is, in some elite circles, akin to having climbed Everest or taken ayuhuasca on a meditation retreat — a spiritually transformative experience, u...Latest news
